Our hands-on, family-friendly workshops are practical and fun and are designed to perfectly complement our shows.
Our show and workshop combos are becoming very popular as we can create an endearing children's area at your event, providing you with both performances and art activities which can run continuously throughout the day.
Workshops comes with their own set – including wooden tables and benches and surrounded by our wooden picket fencing. All materials and resources are provided catering for up to 250 participants per event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Events should provide a 6m x 6m marquee to house the activity under.
Plunge Boom's outreach project provision enables young people to experience creating content and becoming the performers within the context of a Plunge Boom street theatre installation at a live public event.

WORKSHOPS
The JUNIOR Vegetable Nanny 'MAKE & TAKE' Workshop
In the Junior Vegetable Nanny Workshop, participants drop-in and make their own vegetable baby to take home, just like the ones in the Plunge Boom show The Allotment.
Children carefully select a vegetable from the variety on offer at the market stall in the workshop. After choosing a costume and a pair of eyes, they take a seat at a work bench and start imagining and creating their character, guided by the very experienced Vegetable Nannies on hand.
Once made, children fill in their vegetable baby’s birth certificate, before being ceremoniously registered as a ‘Junior Vegetable Nanny’ and awarded their official identity lanyard to wear straight away and take home along with their very own Vegetable Baby.
Book The Allotment and the Junior Vegetable Nanny Workshop together to create a children’s area at your event. By alternating between the two activities, we can provide activities that run continuously through out the day.
The TRAINEE TROLL CHEF WORKSHOP
In this family-friendly workshop, children attempt to gain Level 1 Trainee Troll Chef status by creating their own Plat du Jour. Choosing from a variety of obscure and magical ingredients the challenge is to create either a cupcake or a mini pizza for the local troll. To pass Level 1 and be awarded their Trainee Troll Chef Lanyard, participants must come up with their dish, imagine and draw their own Troll, work hard and work fast!
The workshop is run by two highly experienced Troll Chefs who come armed with all the materials required for the activity, including dough, rolling pins, dishes and revolting ingredients! The workshop comes with its own set, including picket fencing, wooden tables and benches. The workshop can cater for up to 250 participants per event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Events should provide a 6m x 6m marquee to house the activity under.
Paired together, The Trolls Kitchen Show & the Trainee Troll Chef Workshop, create a children’s area at your family friendly event. By alternating between the two activities, we can provide activities that run continuously through out the day.
Outreach
Programme
Guided by our experienced performers and directors, participants take part in a five-day programme which takes inspiration from the Plunge Boom shows The Vegetable Nannies and The Allotment.
Using these as starting points, participants work towards creating their own, re-imagined version of the shows, which they perform at the end of the process.
Throughout the sessions students are introduced to the genre of street theatre, devise their own content, and learn performance skills such as improvisation and character creation.
